Spring is my favorite season of the year, and experiencing it in New York City is incomparable to anything else. Every time someone cringes at the fact that I choose to spend my college experience in New York because of the fact that it's in a city and "does nature even exist there?" I would beg to differ (and so would my allergies). Not to keep waxing poetic about my love for the New York here, but it's the perfect combination of nature and city.
Despite the craziness of the end of second semester in school, I managed to do a little exploring downtown in the West Village. What started out as a class field trip the High Line turned into a little reunion- I completely randomly ran into my old friend Hannah who was coincidentally in the city to see NYU where she will be starting at next year. Fate still manages to surprise me because out of millions of people I manage to see my best friend from 9th and 10th grade. It's truly a small world.
(Channeling The Dogist a bit here)
After I parted ways with Hannah, my friends and I decided to a bit of exploring of the beautiful east village. I had to be dragged away from each street corner to stop taking photos because I was so enraptured by the beautiful brownstone building facades. The village reminds me a little bit of Boston, and I felt instantly at home on the narrowed cobbled streets.
We then headed over to our reservation at the Fatty Crab and honestly I'm still thinking about those pork buns. Since the weather was beautiful and the sun was starting to set, we decided to go to the Hudson River Parkway. As soon as we arrived, it instantly became one of my new favorite places in the city.
